Life On Mars was thumpingly weird last night and all the better for it, I thought. Last week's I found a little distasteful, as the writer seemed to be a little too fond of utilising the misogynstic cliches he was supposedly denouncing. I'll be really interested to see what David E Kelley does with it, especially if it airs on a standard American network (I think he's developing it for ABC). Will it be a Queer As Folk / The Office, or will it be a Coupling / First Years? Time, I suspect will tell.
Also, I am very pleased by the news that Kevin MacDonald (dir. of Touching The Void and The Last King of Scotland) will directing the American film version of State Of Play, starring Brad Pitt as Cal. This is excellent news. Will this mean that James McAvoy, who has worked with MacDonald recently, will reprise his role as Dan? I doubt it, but it could be interesting.
Personally, I think Jason Dohring would be fantastic as Sid. I can't for the life of me think who would be a good Della. Maybe Lauren Ambrose?
On to the icons: If you want any of these, take them with my blessing. For I am God.
