May. 23rd, 2007 10:40 amYesterday, I played tennis with my Dad. First time playing with a new racket, first time playing with new balls, first time playing this year.
The second ball I lobbed over the court fence and into a hawthorne hedge, which set the tone for the next forty minutes. I then proceeded to hit myself very hard on the left shoulder following through a fabulous forehand, leaving a bruise with lattice effect. Dad thought the best way to follow this up would be to whallop a ball at my face, but fortunately I did manage to get my racket in the way, which meant that instead of breaking my nose, I strained my arm a bit. It doesn't hurt at all, unless I do *this* at which point it feels like my shoulder when I poke the bruise. We're playing again on Thursday. My body tingles with anticipation.
