silverweave: A hand drawn snowman stands in a snowy field (Film- The Snowman (Christmas))

Question: Why is it that good habits are so much harder to form, and so much easier to break than bad habits?

There is no doubt a detailed psychological reason for this, but honestly if someone could boil it down to a five point explanation and corresponding foolproof method to overcoming this particular problem I'd be most grateful.

Or to put it another way, yes it's been absolutely ages since I posted, and I wish it hadn't been. For reasons, please see last post (and probably several more besides), but it's a new month, nearly a new year, and there's no time like the present to start stacking up good intentions like a jenga tower.

So, over December, I'm intending to post more generally, including:

* What I'm reading

* What I'm watching on TV and at the cinema

* What I'm writing (ha ha ha ha!)

* What I'm getting up to generally

Everyone's got to start somewhere, right? I'm not sure who is about on DW / LJ these days, but if you are about, do say hello. I love a good shout into the void as the next person, but one of the best parts of this community is that is actually a community of sharing and interacting and I miss the folks I used to see round here. :)
